“Muthaiga Safari Camp” is like feeling at home in the Masai Mara!!
Located in the Olderkesey area, the camp can be reached through the Keekorock airstrip by flights from Nairobi. It a 65 acres private concession equipped with a airstripe for private flights.
The landscape is extremily charming with luxuriant vegetation, sweet slopes and grassy hills. 1600 meters high, malaria free with no need for vaccination.
All kinds of animals, elephants, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, lions and wildebeests live undisturbed following the rhythm of nature.
The camp is composed of seven tents (each one is dedicated to a famous person who has lived in Kenya : Karen Blixen, Beryl Markam, J. Alexander Hunter, F. Courtney Selous, Philip Percival, Denys Finch Hatton and Roy) and two villas (dedicated to the famous hunter Berkeley Cole and to Lord Delamere) respectively 1850 and 220 sq. m., with luxury furniture and personal butler. Mediterranean food made of savoury, homely made dishes all served with a great variety of vegetables. Desserts are ‘crème caramel’, ‘tiramisu’, creams, icecreams and cakes accompanied with good Italian, South African and French wines.
For those who like it, the camp life starts at dawn: the first safari beats the time. Guests can wake up with a nice cup of coffee or a cup of tea. Later on, they will find a rich buffet with cakes, croissants, sandwiches, toasts, cornflakes and can order coffee, tea, chocolate, juice fruit and fresh fruit.
At one o’clock p.m. lunch is served. If you want, you can order a brunch in the savannah. Tea time at five o’clock is a ritual with cakes expressly made and fancy cakes. If you wish, you can go for a safari at dusk, exactly when the lion starts hunting. The aperitif with ‘pizzette’, ‘samosa’ and ‘bruschette’ wine and beer is served around the fire or in the large verandas outside. Dinner is generally served at eight thirty p.m. at the candlelight with two first courses at your choice, two second courses, several side dishes, dessert. Coffee or spirits are served around the fire, in the starlight. This is the magic time of masais’ story tales : legend tells about a black big leopard that has its den near the camp, difficult to sight but always present. We offer a wide range of imaginative activities and we will arrange these to suit your individual requirements. Esattamente nella zona dell'Olderkesy è' raggiungibile attraverso l'airstrip di Keekorock con voli da Nairobi. Si tratta di una concessione privata di 65 acri dotata di airstripe per i voli privati.
La zona è riccamente verdeggiante, dolci pendii e colline erbose circondano l'area .L'altitudine è di circa 1600 metri e non esiste malaria , nè è prevista alcuna vaccinazione. Gli animali, di ogni specie, elefanti, giraffe, zebre, gazzelle, leoni e gnu vivono indisturbati seguendo il ritmo della natura.

Più due villas ognuna rispettivamente di 1850 m.q. e di 220 m. q arredate lussuosamente e dotate di un maggiordomo personale dedicate al grande cacciatore Berckeley Cole e a Lord Delamere.
La cucina è mediterranea fatta di piatti gustosi: pasta fatta in casa, lasagne, risotti, creme, zuppe , minestroni, arrosti, cotolette, rostbeef, piccatine accompagnati sempre da diversi contorni. I dessert sono creme caramelle, tiramisu, creme, gelati e torte. il tutto annaffiato da una cantina composta di vini italiani, sud africani e francesi.
La vita al campo per chi lo desidera inizia all'alba. il primo safari segna lo scandire del tempo. i clienti potranno risvegliarsi con un caffè o con tè. più tardi troveranno un ricco buffet con torte, croissant,panini, toast, cereali, e potranno ordinare, caffè, tè, cioccolato, succhi di frutta e frutta fresca.
All'una viene servito il pranzo. Per chi lo desidera è possibile prenotare un brunch nella savana. Il tè delle cinque è un rituale, dalla cucina direttamente dolci fatti espressi ancora caldi e pasticceria. Chi lo desidera potrà effettuare un safari prima dell'imbrunire, cioè quando il leone si mette in caccia della sua preda. L'aperitivo è intorno al fuoco o nelle ampie verande esterne; pizzette, samosa e bruschettine con aperitivi , vino o birra. La cena è servita generalmente verso le otto e mezza ed è a lume di candela con due primi a scelta , due secondi piatti, diversi contorni, dessert. Il caffè o i liquori vengono serviti attorno al fuoco, sotto un tappeto di stelle ed è quello il momento in cui si raccontano le storie più belle tra cui quella raccontata dei masai , la leggenda del leopardo nero, un grosso esemplare che ha la sua tana nei pressi del campo molto raro da avvistare ma sempre presente.
